AppDirect, the leading cloud service marketplace company, announced today that is has partnered with Swisscom, the largest telecom provider in Switzerland, to launch the Business Marketplace. With its pioneering marketplace, Swisscom becomes the first provider in Switzerland to enable small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) across the country to find, buy, and manage relevant cloud-based business applications.
“At AppDirect, we understand that cloud services can transform the way companies do business. That's why we're tremendously excited to partner with Swisscom to deliver cloud-based applications to small and medium-sized enterprises in Switzerland,” said Daniel Saks, president and co-CEO of AppDirect. “With the Business Marketplace, Swisscom is not only providing crucial value-added services to its SME customers, but also leading the way in cloud services in Switzerland, and Europe as a whole.”
The Business Marketplace features key applications in a variety of categories, including financial management, human resources, marketing, collaboration, productivity, and more. To find the solutions that best fit their needs, SMEs can search the store by name, category, and a range of other variables, read product information and watch demos, as well as browse reviews. SMEs can use one username and password to log into the store to make purchases, review invoices, and manage applications across their businesses.
“We believe the market for business applications will expand rapidly in the coming years, so we wanted to offer an environment where small and medium-sized enterprise customers could discover and use applications in a secure and easy way,” said Jens Margraf, Online Experience Manager at Swisscom, SME division. “Cloud services are a perfect complement to the existing portfolio of services we offer SMEs, and when we saw how easy it is to use the AppDirect platform, we knew we found the ideal technology to power our store and enable us to deliver cloud-based tools.”
In tandem with the Business Marketplace, Swisscom is also launching SME Business World, a new website created to inspire, support, and encourage SMEs in Switzerland to use cloud-based services. The website will offer resources to help SMEs discover and use cloud software, as well as opportunities for SMEs to educate colleagues and network with each other. “Knowledge is power, especially when it comes to helping SMEs get the most out of cloud services,” Saks adds. “Swisscom’s education efforts are a great boost for the marketplace.”
