Broadband speed can affect your house price, if you're in the U.K., but in some countries the cost of a connection exceeds average income.

Would you pay £15,000 for broadband? Apparently many people in the U.K. would... and we're not just talking about the super-rich here (you know – Richard Branson, Peter Stringfellow, telecoms journalists...). A new study shows that a good broadband connection is now a top priority for homebuyers in the U.K., ahead of off-street parking and good local amenities, according to various U.K. press reports this week. The study, conducted by comparison service broadbandchoices.co.uk, contained the staggering revelation that a third of prospective home buyers would pay 2%-5% extra to have a high-speed broadband connection. On a £300,000 property that's £15,000. Wow. The impact on house prices is something the ITU probably didn't take into account when on Monday it reiterated calls for more affordable broadband…
