Cloudmark, Inc., the global leader in messaging threat protection for mobile, fixed and social networks, today announced Cloudmark Mobile Platform 3.0.

The newest edition of Cloudmark’s messaging security solution for mobile network operators delivers the fastest and most accurate protection against all types of mobile messaging abuse.

Cloudmark Mobile Platform 3.0 is the only security solution to operate at mobile speed. It provides real-time visibility and control of mobile messaging threats originating from internal or external networks and delivers the flexible policy controls and scalability that operators need to stop threats before they impact mobile networks and subscribers.

A recent Cloudmark survey revealed that the trust in the security of mobile communications platforms are declining, with nearly half of U.S. consumers saying that they do not have sufficient trust in security of mobile devices to pay for goods and services. With Cloudmark Mobile Platform 3.0, mobile network operators can protect their revenues while improving brand reputation and competitiveness by implementing solutions that provide additional security and trust in mobile devices.

Unlike some security solutions, Cloudmark Mobile Platform 3.0 is extremely scalable, capable of protecting even the largest mobile network operators with minimal footprint and latency, thus minimizing total cost of ownership (TCO).

Operators will benefit from the ability to protect revenue loss associated with grey traffic and bulk-messaging SIM Boxes on their network, as well as implementing controls to stop the spread of spam, phishing and malware to their subscriber base via the mobile messaging channel.

Mobile subscribers will benefit from services such as parental controls for mobile messaging, which enable parents to choose additional protection for their families, including personalized block and allow lists, time-of-day usage, message volume limits, anti-bullying and bashing, and anti-sexting policies.

In addition, Cloudmark Mobile Platform 3.0 provides the capability for operators to offer security services to enterprises, such as message archiving to corporate mail systems, data leakage prevention, and abusive image protection to simplify compliance with government regulations and corporate policies.

Cloudmark Mobile Platform’s enterprise-wide block and allow lists also provide extra security by only allowing authorized senders and receivers to exchange messages or access specific content, while time-of-day policies enable enterprises to take more control messaging traffic. With BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) becoming even more common in the corporate workplace, such controls are vital to ensure enterprise security.

“Businesses and consumers rely on their mobile devices to access sensitive information, so mobile network operators must offer protection against mobile security threats such as spam, phishing, and scams,” said Jeff Wilson, principal analyst at Infonetics. “Providers want to block unwanted messaging traffic before it can impact their network and subscribers, and customers want take control of their mobile device security, and Cloudmark Mobile Platform achieve both goals.”

Cloudmark Mobile Platform 3.0 is a carrier-class solution that offers fast, accurate mobile messaging security protection. It delivers complete protection against mobile spam, phishing and fraud, as well as malware and binary message content.

The Cloudmark Mobile Platform 3.0 combines superior speed and scalability with unmatched deployment flexibility to protect and grow with any size of operator network environment. Furthermore, it easily integrates with existing messaging infrastructure and subscriber preference systems, allowing the fastest and most transparent, and most cost-effective deployment of complete messaging security.

“Mobile operators recognize that protecting their subscribers from increasingly sophisticated mobile messaging threats is an essential step for increasing subscriber satisfaction and reducing the burden of unwanted traffic on their networks,” said Neil Cook, chief technology officer at Cloudmark. “With Cloudmark Mobile Platform 3.0, we’re continuing to enhance our industry-leading solution with even greater capabilities for safeguarding the world’s leading mobile networks against mobile messaging abuse. We look forward to providing them with strongest and most cost-effective protection to ensure the best mobile experience for their customers.”
