UK broadband chief grilled over lack of competition in tenders

The man charged with overseeing the public funding of the U.K.'s rural broadband networks faced tough questions on Tuesday about the competitiveness of the tender process. Concerns have been raised because only BT and Fujitsu have been selected from an original list of nine companies for Broadband Delivery UK (BDUK)'s framework agreement, a document made available to local councils that forms the basis for procuring infrastructure deployment in rural areas…
