NTT Com expands Asia-Oceania backbone capacity to 500 Gbps

Japan-based carrier's latest upgrade represents almost tenfold bandwidth increase in last five years.

NTT Communications on Wednesday announced it has expanded the capacity of its Asia-Oceania cable system to 500 Gbps. The latest upgrade means the Japan-based carrier has increased the amount of bandwidth on this particular section of its global IP network almost tenfold from 53 Gbps in 2007…
