What do Samsung, Nokia and Elvis have in common? In all honesty, not a lot!

In these days of instant celebrity, stardom can be sudden and fleeting. Just ask almost anyone who has ever made the news – or the gossip magazines, at least - on the back of a reality TV show, for example. That wasn't always the case though, and this week the world is marking the anniversary of the death of Elvis Presley, who passed away on 16 August 1977 at the age of 42. 35 years on and Elvis' fames lives on to such an extent that he is still referred to simply as 'the King'. Similarly, for the past few weeks the media has paid tribute in various ways to Hollywood queen Marilyn Monroe who died 50 years ago but remains one of the most recognisable women in the world.
