Telstra to launch LTE in 1800-MHz band

Perennial mobile network trailblazer Telstra on Monday revealed that it will roll out LTE to certain areas of Australia using its existing spectrum allocation. “By the end of the year we will have an LTE network running on 1800-MHz spectrum,” David Thodey, CEO of Telstra, revealed at a press conference at Mobile World Congress. The telco is not planning blanket coverage, but will instead use LTE in areas where it needs the extra capacity…
