Akamai appoints Martin Häring as VP of international marketing

Akamai Technologies has appointedd Martin Häring as Vice President of International Marketing. With over two decades of executive leadership experience in marketing and strategic business development, Mr. Häring is a 17-year veteran with Sun Microsystems, most recently serving as Vice President Worldwide Field Marketing for Sun’s Systems Line of Business. Based in Zürich, Mr. Häring will lead Akamai’s international marketing efforts, focusing on the Company’s strategic growth opportunities outside of North America. He will report to Greg Lazar, Akamai’s General Manager for International Markets.
“Martin brings a wealth of product, industry, and channel marketing experience to this new international position at Akamai,” Mr. Lazar said. “We believe his strong management and executive leadership skills will be a great asset to our partners, customers and employees around the globe. We look forward to leveraging Martin’s insight as we continue to build the Akamai brand and grow our business across all geographies.”

During his tenure at Sun Microsystems, Mr. Häring held several international marketing positions including Vice President Marketing EMEA, Senior Director of Marketing for South and East Europe, Middle East & Africa and Director of Marketing for Germany and Austria. His experience includes strategic business planning and development, product marketing, channel marketing, industry marketing, as well as branding and communications. He started his career as a systems engineer at the IBM Labs in Böblingen, Germany. He received a Masters in Computer Science from the University of Cooperative Education (BA) in Stuttgart, Germany.
