Vodafone reports solid Q1 despite European declines

Vodafone on Friday reported solid first quarter results and confirmed its full-year guidance as foreign exchange gains, ongoing cost savings and M&A activity helped to offset a decline in its core European business. "Europe is Vodafone's core market and its business there is suffering a bit, but this is to be expected," said Ovum analyst Raymond Yu.
