France Telecom profits up, cash outlook strong

France Telecom posted a 46-percent jump in first-half operating profit on Tuesday and raised some of its targets for the year thanks to good results at its Orange mobile phone unit and a cut in capital spending. While the company shaved its full-year sales growth target because of foreign exchange impacts, much stronger-than-expected cash generation in the period allowed it to lift its forecasts for free cash flow…
