Having had their fingers burned in the first wave of excitement over DSL services, the key questions for many DSL providers today are 'to deploy or not to deploy?' and 'if so, how?' Telecoms operators contemplating offering DSL are faced with the possibility of outrageous fortunes to be made on the one hand, and the risk of drowning in a sea of troubles on the other. The DSL market is potentially very lucrative; Ovum's forecasts suggest it could be worth as much as $150 billion worldwide by 2006…
