Bouygues, Numericable battle it out for SFR

Cableco's bid might make more sense for Vivendi since it reduces red tape, which puts a question mark over Bouygues Telecom's future.

Vivendi on Thursday confirmed it has received two binding offers for its SFR subsidiary, one from rival mobile operator Bouygues Telecom and another from Altice, owner of French cableco Numericable. In a short statement, the media group said its board will examine both offers and will consider all options open to it regarding the future of SFR.
