Millicom has appointed Tim Pennington as its new chief financial officer.
Pennington is currently CFO of Cable & Wireless Communications. He will take up his new role in June, almost a year after his predecessor François-Xavier Roger left the company.
Marc Zagar, who took on Millicom's CFO duties on an interim basis, has now been named deputy CFO.
"Millicom is a highly creative company with some great businesses and an excellent future opportunity," said Pennington, in a statement. "I am delighted to be joining the company at such an exciting time and am really looking forward to working with [CEO] Hans-Holger [Albrecht] and the team there."
Prior to Cable & Wireless Communications, Pennington served as CFO of Cable & Wireless plc and of Hong Kong's Hutchison Telecommunications International. He was also finance director of 3UK.
"I am delighted that we have been able to appoint someone with a depth of international and sector experience combined with detailed knowledge of corporate finance," Albrecht said.
