2014 dawns with M&A rumblings in Asia and Latin America

Telecom Italia, Telefonica, China Mobile, India and Kosovo make early headlines in the new year.

There's nothing quite as unpleasant as the moment on a cold, dark January morning when you have to stagger out of bed and into the office for the first time in almost a fortnight. Total Telecom took a Christmas break this year, during which the editorial team confesses to having let the alarm clock gather dust, put extra strain on the fridge door, and kept only half an eye on the happenings in the world of telecoms.
