JDS Uniphase Q1 loss widens on input cost increase

JDS Uniphase Corp.'s fiscal first-quarter loss widened as the broadband-products maker's higher input costs helped mask a rise in revenue.

For the current quarter, the company is targeting adjusted revenue of $410 million to $430 million, compared with estimates of analysts polled by Thomson Reuters, who recently expected $459 million.
