Altimo, a unit of Russian conglomerate Alfa Group, said Tuesday it hopes a deal with Ukrainian billionaire Viktor Pinchuk's Bertofan Investment Ltd. will settle a long-running battle for control of mobile-phone operator VimpelCom Ltd.
