Vodafone on Monday signed a multi-year contract with NFC security specialist Gemalto that will support the rollout of contactless payment services across the operator's global footprint.
The deal will see Gemalto supply Vodafone with its Trusted Service Management (TSM) platform, which encrypts data as it moves between mobile operators and banks.
