Two ratings agencies, Standard & Poor's Ratings Service and Moody's Investors Service, placed their ratings of MetroPCS Communications Inc. on review for an upgrade, after the company unveiled plans to merge with Deutsche Telekom AG's T-Mobile USA.
S&P currently rates MetroPCS at B-plus, a junk-level rating four notches below investment grade.
