The Federal Communications Commission is allowing cable companies to take over telephone companies that serve customers in their franchise areas, Bloomberg News reported Monday citing an order.
The request was filed by the National Cable & Telecommunications Association and concerned so-called competitive local exchange carriers, according to Bloomberg.
