BT talks up fibre, TV in Q1, analyst twitchy on Global Services

U.K. incumbent posts 'acceptable' first-quarter results, CEO says; fibre rollout on track and broadband subscribers still growing.

At first glance there was nothing remarkable about the 'acceptable' set of first-quarter results BT posted on Thursday: numbers were broadly in line with expectations and the company was particularly bullish on its growing role in the TV space. However, one analyst raised a red flag on the telco's Global Services unit, placing its continued revenue decline under the microscope.
