Telefonica SA won't buy any Brazilian companies in the immediate future after a recent bid for GVT Holding proved unsuccessful, Chairman Cesar Alierta said Wednesday.
Last week, French rival Vivendi SA said it had secured control over GVT, a Brazilian broadband operator that Telefonica also wanted.
