MTS to invest $200m in long-distance network in next three years

Operator plans to extend its network by up to 55,000 kilometres.

Russia's largest mobile phone operator OAO Mobile TeleSystems plans to invest around $200 million expanding its long-distance network over the next three years, the company's chief executive said Friday.

MTS recently took control of fixed-line affiliate OAO Comstar United TeleSystems, and its long-distance network currently covers some 15,000 kilometers.
